OniGiri, usually called Giri, is a Canadian VTuber who became known for something no one else was doing: real cooking streams with a VTuber avatar. She started streaming in 2020, debuted as a VTuber on August 3, 2021, moved to Tokyo and joined GeeXPlus in 2023. Today she mixes cooking, IRL streams from Japan and variety content.

Has OniGiri done a face reveal?
This is where Giri is different from most VTubers. Her whole format already shows part of her: on cooking streams, her avatar sits on screen while her real gloved hands and body (in a blue suit for the green-screen effect) prepare the food. On IRL streams around Japan she appears in person, usually with a face mask.
So when people search “OniGiri face reveal no mask” or “OniGiri IRL face”, the answer is that she hasn’t shown her full face. The masked IRL streams are her choice of how much to share. We don’t publish anything beyond what she shows herself.
How her cooking streams work
Giri streams cooking several days a week on Twitch. She started with recipes she already knew well and moved on to cuisines she was learning alongside her viewers, from homemade cheese to Greek moussaka. Behind the scenes there’s a lot of prep: researching the recipe, buying ingredients and often “shadow cooking” it the day before so the live version runs smoothly.
Moving to Japan
A trip to Japan in late 2022 settled it. Giri has said she was drawn by the people, the scenery, the festivals and the fact that Japan is where VTubing began. Moving to Tokyo and joining GeeXPlus in 2023 opened the door to IRL streams and collaborations there.
Personality
She’s playful and happy to be the punchline. For a “professional cooking VTuber”, she has burned rice more than once, and she is famously behind on technology and gaming trends. Other creators call her “Lola Giri” (lola is Filipino for grandma) because of her grandma-like energy.
