Did Gawr Gura ever show her real face?
No. Hololive talents perform as their characters, and Gura never showed her face on stream, in a video or on social media. The phrase “Gawr Gura real face” is a very common search, so plenty of content is made to catch that traffic. Common examples:
- “Accidental face reveal” videos: usually a camera glitch, a model error or edited footage with a misleading title.
- Cosplay photos: Gura is one of the most cosplayed VTubers, and cosplayers’ photos often get reposted as “the real Gura”.
- Random people: photos of strangers labeled with her name.
We don’t publish any of these, and we don’t speculate about the person behind the character. Gura’s graduation didn’t change that. Her identity remained private when she left.
Who is Gawr Gura?
Gura’s character is a shark girl from Atlantis with a trident, and her laid-back, self-deprecating humour made her an instant hit. Her first tweet, a single “a”, became a meme before she had even streamed. She jokes about being bad at spelling and maths, then turns around and nails a karaoke stream or a rhythm game.
