Lists of “VTuber face reveals” are everywhere, and most of them are padded with leaks, lookalikes and clickbait. This one isn’t. Every VTuber face reveal below was the creator’s own decision, made on their own channels or in public, and we checked each one against reliable sources. That’s why the list is short. We’ll update it whenever a VTuber chooses to reveal.
Last checked: October 2026.
VTubers who have done a face reveal
| VTuber | How they revealed | When |
|---|---|---|
| Chibidoki | Shared her face herself and thanked fans on X | December 2024 |
| CodeMiko | Her creator streams on camera as “The Technician” | Since her early streams |
| kson | Camera streams, live events and on-stage appearances | Before and during her VTuber career |
| Lord Aethelstan | Took his helmet off live on Twitch | October 2022 |
| AmaLee | A public singer before her VTuber debut | Before December 2021 |
| Nyanners (partial) | Showed part of her face on stream, mostly masked | August 2023 |
Chibidoki
Chibidoki is the clearest recent case. In December 2024 she showed her face and posted on X to thank fans “for the love on my face reveal”. She still streams with her VTuber model, which shows that a reveal doesn’t have to mean giving up the avatar. Our Chibidoki profile has the full story and her original post.
CodeMiko (The Technician)
CodeMiko is a 3D VTuber built and performed by a creator who publicly goes by Youna Kang. She doesn’t hide behind the model: she also streams on camera as “The Technician”, the character who “runs” Miko, and the two often appear in crossover bits. Her face is part of the show rather than a one-off reveal.
kson
kson is a special case, because her face was public before she became famous as a VTuber. She hosted live events in person, mixed camera and avatar streams on Niconico, and appeared on stage in cosplay when she joined VShojo. She has never treated her face as a secret.
Lord Aethelstan
On October 12, 2022, Lord Aethelstan staged a dramatic helmet removal on his Twitch stream, then told viewers: “I thought most of you guys already knew what I looked like.” He used the moment to argue that VTubers shouldn’t feel stuck with one standard of how to present themselves.
AmaLee
AmaLee was a known singer and voice actress, performing in public at events like Anime Expo, long before she debuted as a VTuber in December 2021. Like kson, she didn’t so much “reveal” as bring an existing public career into VTubing.
Nyanners (partial)
Nyanners has played with the idea more than once. Her first “face reveal” in November 2022 was a joke: she wore a creepy cat mask. In August 2023 she did show part of her face on stream, but spent most of it in a surgical mask and a pink cat-ear wig. We count it as partial.
Faceless creators who revealed (not VTubers)
A few of the most searched face reveals belong to creators who used an icon or mask rather than a VTuber model:
- Dream showed his face in October 2022 in a video titled “hi, I’m Dream”.
- Ado appeared mostly unobscured in her “Vivarium” music video in February 2026, after years as a silhouette.
Famous VTubers who have never revealed
These are the names people search for most. None of them has done a real face reveal, and several have said they never will:
- Ironmouse has said she will never show her face.
- Gawr Gura never revealed, before or after leaving Hololive.
- Sinder says she feels safer staying anonymous.
- Filian: her “face reveals” are April Fools jokes and bits.
- Spite, Camila and Deme stream anonymously, and their reveal clips are jokes or edits.
- Bao and FeFe joke about it often, but haven’t done it.
- Shoto posts photos from the neck down only.
- OniGiri shows her hands and does IRL streams, but keeps her face covered.
- Yuzu moved to VTubing to get away from attention on her looks.
- Powdur teases reveals, but we couldn’t confirm a real one.
- Zentreya even uses text-to-speech so her voice can’t identify her, and Projekt Melody has never revealed either.
If you’re wondering why so many stay hidden, we explain it in Why don’t VTubers show their face?
What we leave out, and why
You won’t find leaks, photos dug up from old accounts, hacked images or accidental slips on stream in this list. Those aren’t reveals. They happen against the creator’s will, and in more than one case they’ve led to harassment. If a VTuber didn’t choose to show their face, we don’t show it either.
FAQ
Which VTuber did the most famous face reveal?
Among VTubers, Chibidoki’s December 2024 reveal is the best known recent one. Outside VTubing, Dream’s 2022 reveal video passed 73 million views, which makes it one of the most watched face reveals ever.
Did any Hololive member do a face reveal?
Not as part of Hololive. Agency talents keep their identity private while they play their character, and Hololive acts against sites that publish their personal information.
Will this list be updated?
Yes. When a VTuber chooses to show their face and we can confirm it from their own channels, we add them here and on their profile.
