This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Face Reveals (face-reveals.com) collects when you visit the site, why we collect it, who we share it with and what rights you have. We keep it short and plain, and we only collect what the site needs to work.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is the owner of face-reveals.com. For any privacy question or request, write to info@face-reveals.com.
2. What we collect
When you browse the site
Like almost every website, our server records technical data when a page loads: your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for, the date and time, and the referring page. We use these logs to keep the site secure and working, and we don’t use them to identify you.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site: which pages are read, how visitors arrive, and roughly where they’re from. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects data such as your device, browser, approximate location and the pages you visit. We use this information in aggregate to improve the site. We don’t use it to identify individual visitors.
Advertising
The site may show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads, measure them and, where you have allowed it, personalise them based on your visits to this and other websites. You can manage personalised ads in Google’s Ad Settings and learn more in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Comments
If you leave a comment, we collect the name, email address and website you enter, plus your IP address and browser user agent to help detect spam. Your name and comment are shown publicly; your email address is never published.
An anonymised string created from your email address (a “hash”) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you have a Gravatar profile picture. Gravatar’s privacy policy is available at automattic.com/privacy. If you tick the box to save your details, your name, email and website are stored in a cookie on your device so you don’t have to type them again.
Contact form and email
If you use our contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply to you and to handle your request, such as a correction or a removal request.
Embedded content
Many pages include embedded videos from YouTube and posts from X (Twitter). Embedded content behaves exactly as if you had visited those sites: YouTube and X may collect data about you, set cookies and track your interaction with the embed, especially if you’re logged in to them. Their own privacy policies apply: Google/YouTube and X.
3. Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. This site uses:
| Type | Set by | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Face Reveals (WordPress) | Remember your comment details if you choose to, and keep the site working. |
| Preferences | Face Reveals | Remember small display choices, such as whether the table of contents is open. |
| Analytics | Google Analytics | Measure visits and how the site is used. |
| Advertising | Google AdSense and partners | Show and measure ads, and personalise them where allowed. |
| Third-party embeds | YouTube, X | Play embedded videos and posts. |
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may stop parts of the site, such as embedded videos, from working properly.
4. Why we use your data (legal bases)
If you’re in the European Economic Area or the UK, we rely on these legal bases under the GDPR:
- Consent for analytics and advertising cookies, and for saving your comment details.
- Legitimate interest for server logs, security, spam prevention and publishing the comments you choose to post.
- Taking steps at your request when you contact us and we reply.
Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
5. Who we share data with
We don’t sell your personal data. We share it only with the services that help us run the site:
- our web hosting provider, which stores the site and its data;
- Google (Analytics and AdSense);
- Automattic (Gravatar), only for comment avatars;
- YouTube and X, when you view embedded content.
We may also disclose data if the law requires it.
6. International transfers
Some of these providers, such as Google, process data in the United States. These transfers rely on safeguards recognised under EU law, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
7. How long we keep data
- Comments and their metadata are kept for as long as the comment is published, so follow-up comments can be approved automatically.
- Contact messages are kept for as long as we need them to handle your request, and then deleted.
- Analytics data is kept for the period set in our Google Analytics retention settings.
- Server logs are kept for a short period for security purposes.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and receive a copy of it. To use any of these rights, email info@face-reveals.com. If you have left a comment, you can also ask us for an export of your data or for its deletion.
If you think we have handled your data incorrectly, you can complain to the data protection authority in your country.
9. Creators featured on this site
Our profiles only cover information that creators have made public themselves. We never publish leaked photos, accidental reveals or real names a creator hasn’t shared. If you’re a creator and want something changed or removed, email us and we’ll review it. You can read more in our editorial policy.
10. Children
This site isn’t aimed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we’ll delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the site or the law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
12. Contact
